My Solar Oven!!!

Recently our class has been experimenting with heat. Then we were given a challenge by our teacher, Mrs. Bumstead  to roast/cook a marshmallow without using fire or electricity. Our group decided to use a magnifying glass to roast our marshmallow(magnify the heat from the sun to roast it). Sadly our idea didn't work the best because our heat was to concentrated and we ended up burning the marshmallow!!!

My Poem

Video games
Countless hours of staring at screens
I'm surprised we aren't all all blind

An amazing experience
Its like a second life
In a new world
Where anything is possible
Its like you have superpowers
You can do a back flip
Win the Stanley cup
Go 300 km per hour down a race track
or even become president

A game on a TV
a tablet
a computer
a phone,
Who ever thought of this wonderful idea

From PONG to NHL16
They all fit under 1 category
Video games!

Currently we have been very busy working and presenting our passion projects (if you don't know what a passion project is then refer to my 5th post) as stated in my 5th post i did my passion project on stop motion.During my presentation I explained what stop motion was and then shared my journey through creating the video. The project went well but it was stressful,i'm happy its over. When we aren't working or presenting our passion project we are doing lessons on heat.our teacher Mrs.Bumstead taped the lessons and then posted them on YouTube so we could do the lessons on our own pace, she also had around 2-3 activity's we could do after the video.

Blue Jays Migration and Bird House Project

Over the last 2 weeks our class has been in the shop making bird houses (I will include a picture of my house at the end) Then we were told to pick a bird and talk about flight. I chose the Blue Jay and chose to talk about how they migrate.

How and when Blue Jays migrate remains a mystery, some Blue Jays will migrate once year and then stay in the same spot other years. When Blue Jays migrate they leave in flocks of about 5 - 250 Blue Jays. Some people say the Blue Jays tend to migrate when their food sources run out or if their is bad weather, also younger Blue Jays tend to migrate more often the adult Blue Jays but none of these thoughts have been proven.
